About Us |

Founded in 1952 in Melbourne, Australia, the JCI Senate is an international organization of men and women who have received special recognition from their local Junior Chamber of Commerce (Jaycee) chapters. Individuals who have been in the Jaycee organization for at least 5 years and who have applied their leadership skills to growing and improving the organization may be awarded a Senatorship in Junior Chamber International (JCI), bearing a unique number. The award confers lifetime membership in JCI, although most National Organization Members and, in the United States, State Organization Members, require a member to pay dues to that organization in order to vote at meetings or to hold office. Most countries around the world with a Junior Chamber of Commerce also have an affiliated JCI Senate organization. The Montana JCI Senate came into being shortly after the U.S. JCI organized. To be a member the candidate must have met the above aforementioned criteria. Today we have over 100 members, all outstanding individuals, who have attained the honor of being a JCI Senator. The Montana JCI Senate meets on a quarterly basis, generally at the same time as the Montana Jaycees. Our annual meeting, held in May, is the election meeting. We also have a summer meeting at the annual JCI Campout. Our activities mostly involve supporting the Montana Jaycees. We provide monies for the awards program through plaque sponsorships and providing judges for the competitions held at the Jaycee meetings. We also act as a resource providing management for Jaycee Foundation. The campout, generally held in July, is always a good time for all who attend. | ||||||||
